Rhinoplasty Before & After: Tip Symmetry and Nostril Narrowing

Rhinoplasty #187

Our beautiful 54 year old patient is seen six months following her rhinoplasty surgery with us. She did not like her wide, droopy and asymmetrically bulbous tip appearance. Her small dorsal hump and profile convexity was also repaired. She had nostril narrowing, and spreader grafts places to improve her narrowed internal nasal valves.

One of the most important parts of your rhinoplasty consultation will be to gain understanding of your concerns about how your nose looks and functions. Your descriptions are written verbatim, along with the duration of your dissatisfaction and dysfunction. We typically ask our prospective rhinoplasty patients how much they dislike their nose, from zero to ten. Ten may be the worst possible dissatisfaction, and zero may be defined as no desire for surgery. Those who quantify dissatisfaction at seven or higher are typically eagerly desiring surgery. Rhinoplasty surgery may not be appropriate if you only have mild to moderate dissatisfaction with your nose, or if you like your current nasal appearance on occasion. If you have a high degree of dissatisfaction for a long duration, with issues we can fix or improve upon, you may be a good candidate for rhinoplasty surgery, since goals of rhinoplasty surgery are always improving how your nose looks and functions.
