Rhinoplasty Before & After: Deviated Septum Correction and a Refined Nasal Appearance

Featured Patient

Our beautiful 28-year-old patient is seen 2.5 years after functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery. She had a severely deviated nasal septum that was obstructing her airway, and causing a small irregularity and asymmetry on the base view of her nose. This was associated with a wide nasal appearance, and an overprojected profile nasal appearance. In the after photos, you can see a narrower and less projected nasal appearance that is completely natural. She is breathing well and she's thrilled with her results, and we are grateful that she has allowed us to post her photos.

Patient Review:

“Dr. Joseph is the only doctor I would trust with a rhinoplasty. He made me feel super comfortable throughout the entire process. My results were even better than what I could have expected. I’ve referred many friends to him who have also had great experiences. Post-op, Dr. Joseph was there with any questions or concerns I had even on the weekends during non- working hours. I would recommend him to everyone.”

Rhinoplasty Before & After: Addressed a Broad, Flat Nose with Thick Nasal Skin

Rhinoplasty #293

We have been specializing in rhinoplasty surgery for well over 26 years, and understanding how to treat the nasal tip, the nasal skeleton, and different skin types, is essential for delivering optimal results. In general, people with darker skin types tend to have thicker nasal skin, and they require cartilage grafting to achieve nasal tip projection, and narrowing. Our beautiful patient is seen before, and one year after rhinoplasty. She has thick nasal skin, and she presented with a broad and flat nasal appearance, and she was looking to achieve a narrower nasal appearance in her upper, middle, and lower thirds of her nose. Additionally, on profile, she had a droopy tip that was worse with smiling, and she had a small dorsal hump; she requested a tip lift, and bump removal. The base view of her nose demonstrates the amount of nasal tip projection that we were able to achieve, utilizing a strong columella strut graft, and an extended shield graft. In her case, grafting material was harvested from her own nasal septum, and repurposed. Her after photos demonstrate a narrower, less distracting, and more pleasing nasal appearance. We are most grateful that she has allowed us to post her photographs.

Rhinoplasty Before & After: Corrected a Wide Nasal Tip, an Overprojected Profile, & a Dorsal Hump

Rhinoplasty #292

Our beautiful patient is seen before, and one year after functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery, and she did not like her wide nasal appearance, particularly in her tip, and she also did not like her overprojected nasal profile appearance. Overprojected means that her nose simply stuck out too far, and this was associated with a dorsal hump, and droopiness with smiling. Goals were to provide a natural looking, straighter and narrower nasal appearance on front view, with profile deprojection, and hump removal on profile. This long-term results, one year after surgery, reveals a natural looking, less distracting, and more feminine nasal appearance. She also breathes better. We are thrilled that she has allowed us to post her photos.

Rhinoplasty Before & After: Five Years Following Rhinoplasty Surgery

Rhinoplasty #292

Our beautiful patient demonstrates a long-term result, before, and over 5 years after rhinoplasty surgery in our practice. As you can see from her photographs, she started with a wide and somewhat crooked nasal appearance on front view, along with an over-projected nasal profile appearance, and the nasal tip that tended to droop with smiling. She visited us because she was having some intermittent nosebleeds, and it was likely just due to the dry cold weather, and thankfully it is now spring soon! Over 5 years after surgery, you can see a smaller, less distracting, and more feminine nasal appearance, that has no stigmata of previous nasal surgery. We are extremely grateful that she has allowed us to post her photographs.

Rhinoplasty Before & After: Addressed a Hanging Columella, Nostril Asymmetry & an Overprojected Profile

Rhinoplasty #291

Our beautiful patient is seen before, and 10 months following functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery in our practice. Preoperatively, she did not like the width of her nose on front view, and her nostril asymmetry on front view, especially with smiling. She was also self-conscious of her overprojected nasal profile appearance, with a dorsal hump, and a hanging columella with excess nostril show. Additionally, she had nasal obstruction that was due to a deviated nasal septum, turbinate enlargement, and weakness of her external nasal valves. Nearly a year after surgery, you can see a smaller, less distracting, and more feminine nasal appearance that is unoperated in appearance, and our patient is breathing perfectly. We are most grateful that she has allowed us to post her photos.
